A naturopath is a primary care provider who focuses on the whole patient and believes in the body’s innate ability to heal itself. The Naturopath role is to support the body in its own process through a variety of natural therapeutics. Naturopaths are interested in all factors that contribute to disease and symptoms. Their focus is to find the underlying cause of disease and to use treatments that promote the natural healing mechanisms of the body. Naturopaths treat both acute and chronic conditions. They not only look at family and personal history, but also lifestyle factors like quality of sleep, diet, stress levels, hormonal influences, hydration levels, bowel health and others.
Reflexology is an ancient healing art. It has been used for thousands of years as a gentle yet effective method of allowing the body to achieve the balance needed to heal itself. Reflexology stimulates reflex areas in the feet. It is a calming, gentle therapy that relieves stress and tension, improves nerve, blood and energy flow, and helps the body to rebalance. It is gentle enough to be used on people of all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly.
The ENAR (Electro-Neuro-Adaptive-Regulator) is a Russian invention, a hand-held therapeutic device that is moved over the body to find and treat ‘asymmetries’ (disorders) through the skin.
The ENAR uses reflex biofeedback, a dynamic computer-modulated interactive electro-stimulation, between itself and the soft tissue. By responding to physiological changes in the soft tissue the ENAR is able to effect the nervous system’s natural adaptive functioning, the universal basis to all healing. As such, it is said that the ENAR can be used for the treatment of a very wide variety of painful syndromes. ENAR results with pain relief, functional improvement, and general health restoration can be exceptional.
The interactive therapy device achieving very fast results:
• Relieve Acute and Chronic Pain Fast
• Improves Function
• Accelerate Recovery - Rehabilitation
• Find Hidden and Referred Treatment Points
• Help your body to heal itself
Iridology is the specific examination of patterns in the iris of the eye which locates areas and stages of inflammation throughout the body. The iris is composed of thousands of nerve endings which are connected to every tissue of the body through the brain and nervous system. Changes in the iris nerve fibers may reveal inherent strengths and weaknesses, health levels, and transitions that take place in a person's body. Mia uses the multiPIX Handheld Iridology Camera which is a unique camera that can be used for Iridology. A digital photo is taken from your iris and sent to the computer so you can look at your iris while everything is explained to you.
Live Blood Analysis, also known as Darkfield Microscopy is a way of studying live whole blood cells under a specially adapted microscope that projects the dynamic image onto a viewing monitor. This allows your practitioner to identify and treat your health problems faster and better than ever before. This technique enables the evaluation of blood features in their living state, hence the term “live blood” analysis.
Hemaview can assist the practitioner to screen for health limiting processes, such as:
•Inflammation
•Oxidative Stress
•Reduced Nutritional Status
•Poor Liver Function
•Reduced Digestive Integrity
•Impaired Immune Performance
Many of your feelings of poor health could be due to hormonal imbalances. Salivary hormone testing provides an accurate way to identify these imbalances and help to focus on bringing them back to a balanced state. Mia offers salivary hormone testing as a non-invasive and very convenient measure of her client’s hormones. It measures free, bioavailable hormones (those doing their job at the cellular level). Identifying an imbalance in any one or more of the hormones through saliva testing can help to create the most effective treatment protocol for the client in order to balance the hormones
You’re recommended Saliva Hormone Test Profile:
•Estrogen; including Estrone, Estradiol & Estriol
•Estrogen Ratio
•Progesterone
•DHEA-s
•Cortisol
•Testosterone
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis is a safe and non-invasive pathology test. It measures the levels and comparative ratios of nutrient and toxic minerals found in hair.
Why test for minerals?
Minerals are essential for growth, healing, vitality and wellbeing. They provide structural support in bones and teeth, and they maintain the body's pH and water balance, nerve activity, muscle contractions, energy production and enzyme reactions. They are the basic ‘spark plugs' of life.
Ideally we should get all the minerals we need from a balanced diet. Unfortunately today this is rarely possible. Modern farming techniques, fertilisers and depleted soils reduce the mineral content of foods. Environmental pollutants, chemical food additives and stressful lifestyles also have a detrimental effect on our nutritional status.
Many health conditions are aggravated by mineral imbalances and toxic metal excesses, including cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, migraines, learning difficulties and hyperactivity in children, to name just a few. Consequently, we need to test and monitor our nutritional status more than ever.
Nutritional Medicine is the most basic modality used by a naturopath. You are what you eat, so where else to start your health care? But nutritional medicine goes beyond just good eating. It takes into account digestive or absorption problems, food intolerance or hereditary factors. Nutritional supplements such as vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and minerals facilitate, even push biochemical processes in the right direction. This is a great starting point for a healthier you!
