Many clients have found hypnotherapy constructive in helping to conquer fears such as air travel, examinations, starting new employment, upcoming significant events and so on. Others have defeated obsessive type behaviours such as Obsessive-Complusive Disorder (OCD), overeating, excessive drinking and drug-taking. Hypnotherapy can also be constructive in countering phobic behvaiours like fear of heights, elevators, insects and snakes.
Some myths about hypnotherapy:
You will be made to do something that will embarrass you later.
Hypnotherapists work to help their clients, not damage them through embarrassment.
You go into a trance and will not remember what you said or did.
You may feel very relaxed, but you are not in a trance and will remember everything that you said and did.
You will be under the power of a signal to behave in a certain way.
Although you can use signals to help you to adjust some unwanted behaviours, you decide when to use them.
You will do something dangerous.
The subconscious part of our minds would not let us behave in any way to endanger our safety.

Hypnotherapy is a mild, relaxing, yet deep therapy which clients find very pleasant. It is a safe technique used to help people to overcome issues in their lives. The reason hypnotherapy can often be more beneficial than other therapies is that it employs deep relaxation as a starting point, so that the client can focus on addressing the issues without distraction.
